It’s days like today for which I am especially appreciative. When nothing of particular merit has occurred — just an ordinary day — but I am truly overwhelmed with gratitude for my life.

Live in each season as it passes; breathe the air, drink the drink, taste the fruit. – Thoreau

I woke up this morning healthy, happy and warm. I have spent the day doing a job I love with an amazing group of people. I enjoyed a savory and healthy lunch (green hatch chile stew — yummy!), complemented by a delicious muffin made for me by a dear friend. And, I have laughed more times than I can count. All of this and still half of the day remains. For this, I am grateful — my good life.

More often than not, we concentrate on life’s “big events.” But, it’s in the small things — the moment-to-moment living — that is often left unrecognized and unappreciated. We should all take special care each day to be grateful for the here and now and relish in the moments, even if they are seemingly insignificant. For it’s the moments that truly mold our lives.

Trajectory of Life celebrates living purposefully with curiosity, courage and simplicity as guides. I use the blog to document this philosophy through writing about my adventures in reading, travel, cooking, photography, fitness, being a dog mom, minimalism, sustainability, living childfree by choice, marriage and setting and meeting life goals. As someone new-ish to the Bay Area, the blog is also where I share tips for things to do in San Francisco as we explore this new city of ours.
