where has all the free time gone + week(s) reflection

Just when you think you’ve made it through the busiest point of the year (and, likely, one of the busiest of your life), you decide to throw in a few more significant life changes — just for good measure. Welcome to our life right now.

Because planning + hosting a wedding and taking on new roles at work weren’t quite enough for the two of us to check off this year, my husband and I decided we would also throw in buying a new home and becoming landlords to round out 2018. Needless to say, my recent absence on the blog isn’t for lack of wanting to write but more a direct correlation between the aforementioned house and work activities, which have led to basically zero free time. However, after three failed offers, the fourth has stuck and we are now nearly complete with the purchase process and are well on our way to preparing our current home for our renters (woohoo!).

In the midst of all of this activity, we managed to get away and unplug (literally and figuratively) for a long weekend of camping and exploring at the Great Sand Dunes National Park. With the exception of our pup DESPISING the sand, we had a wonderful time and a much-needed break from all of the craziness.

I’m certain there will be many more blog posts about our move as I continue to prepare for leaving the neighborhood + house I love and have called home for the past five-plus years and beginning a new chapter with my family in our urban Victorian home. I just need to find the time to write amongst all of the busyness.
