week reflection

Although the calendar reads mid-May, the massive snowstorm that swept across many parts of the West this week proves once again that Mother Nature doesn’t give a fuck about what month or season it is. Fortunately, the Denver-metro area was spared for the most part, but we did get a few inches in the southern suburbs (otherwise known as where I work). The mountains, however, were a different story with feets of snow reported at Breck and other places.

The sun finally reappeared this morning, which was a very welcome sight — especially to us Coloradoans who are used to its warm rays shining down on most day. Between the spring snowstorms and the recent catastrophic hail storm (still waiting for damage info from my insurance adjuster), Denverites have experienced quite the weather issues in the last few weeks. Fingers crossed spring is actually here now and summer on its heels. I’m ready.

“We can still be crazy after all these years. We can still be angry after all these years. We can still be timid or jealous or full of feelings of unworthiness. The point is . . . not to try to throw ourselves away and become something better. It’s about befriending who we are already.” ~Pema Chodron
