In March of this year, I created a list of 101 things I would complete in 1,001 days, or by Dec. 17, 2017. As the first six months (plus) have come and gone, it’s time to reflect and update the list.
My one major takeaway is the realization that a few of the goals are no longer applicable due to decisions and changes I’ve made in my life. One primary example is goals related to The Voice as I made the (difficult) decision to end my board position with the organization earlier this month.
As a result, I’m struggling with the decision to either leave the original list as is, knowing that I will not be able to complete all of the items, or updating it to reflect the changes. For someone who struggles with perfectionism, leaving the list as-in will be the difficult path.
However, I recognize it’s also a good exercise in realizing change and adapting goals + accepting life doesn’t always go as planned. As I ponder these decisions, I decided to leave the list for now and update accordingly.
(Bold items are completed. Blue items are those that are + may no longer be applicable.)
